Takahata-fudo

Takahata-fudo(Buddhist temple) is located in Hino city about 30 km west of Shinjukua
about 30-35 minutesfrom Shinjuku by express to Keio-Hachioji or Takaosan-guchi. and
About 3 minutes walk from Takahata-fudo station on Keio Line.
Hydrangea is beautiful in June,
Weekdays is attractive to tourists is less

Kan'eiji(temple)


It is a prayer sites and family temple of the Tokugawa Shogun, six out of 15 people Tokugawa Shogun history is enshrined in Kan'eiji.   The temple has a vast site in Ueno area  Konponchudo    Taito-ku, Uenosakuragi chome 14-11 

 

 

  There are many tombstones in the surrounding area

  This is the tomb of Tokugawa Yoshinobu 15th shogun(Kan'eiji cemetery)


 
 There are many old  japanes houses in the surrounding area

mirokuden(maitreya Temple)

    a statue made from 2000 pieces of wood assembled together, 6m height
   This statue is smiling at the naked. It means an open mind(enlightenment)

Sakara Ryūō(Dragon King statue)

2-3-1 Asakusa Taitō-ku  /  Senso-ji Temple
One of the dragon king who protect the Dharma and  Dragon is a god of the water.
(KounTakamura 1906 work)
It is the image that has been laid to rest fountain was in main temple building back.
after World War Ⅱ、Asakusa cuisine restaurant business union has donated in 1964.
 

Sensouji Temple

2-3-1 Asakusa Taitō-ku  
The oldest temple in Tokyo  is an ancient Buddhist temple located in Asakusa(built in 628).
The Nakamise-dōri(89 small shops) is a street on the approach to the temple. It is said to have come about in the early 18th century. 
During the 1923 Great Kantō earthquake many of the shops were destroyed.
During World War II, the temple was bombed and destroyed.
It was rebuilt  and is a symbol of rebirth to japanese and  tourists flocking to Sensō-ji have shopped at the small stores here for centuries

Jizō statues at the cemetery

4-7-35 Shiba-Koen, Minato at  Zōjō-ji
rows of stone statues of children represent the unborn children  including miscarried, aborted and stillborn children.  Small jizo is decorated  with  clothing and toys. It is  a small gift for Jizō.
this is meant to shorten the amount of suffering a child has to go through on the way to the afterlife

Zōjō-ji

Sangedatsu Gate  is  the temple's only original structure to survive the Second World War
Zōjō-ji is a Buddhist temple that was badly damaged in World War II, but still retains the air of a major temple. during the Edo period Zōjō-ji was the Tokugawa's family temple.
